Salernitana have requested the second leg of their Serie B relegation playoff against Sampdoria be postponed after players and staff were hospitalised with food poisoning.

The club said they had made informal contact with Serie B officials and had received “general openness” to assess their request for a postponement.
Salernitana also called for an investigation into “the causes of this deadly and widespread event.”
Salernitana were suppose to play a relegation playoff against Frosinone. But Brescia were deduct four points due to financial irregularities, automatically relegating Sampdoria and Frosinone avoided relegation.
